Pros
Some great fellow employees, not part of management staff.
Cons
There is so much to be said about this place and none of it is conducive to a good work environment. Aside from the few coworkers that didn’t act like they were still in high school, the entire office was extremely cliquey, judgmental, & egregiously unprofessional. Yet, as the “new person”, you were held to a much higher and unattainable standard than anyone else. So much so, to the point that management (and even those that weren’t officially management or supposedly your direct supervisor) seemed as if they were constantly looking for a mistake or simple error to hold against you as a reason to terminate. This has been the standard for many new hires that also never received the proper training of policies and procedures. Which, despite an extremely outdated employee manual, constantly change and differ between every employee and each of the management staff. This alone incited a sense of fear and hostility throughout the office that will have you feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells.
Furthermore, management has NO flexibility or consideration when it comes to needing (sick or vacation) time off or needing to work remotely, even when circumstances are beyond your control. Management would rather see you risking your own safety just to make it into the office despite horrible winter weather conditions. (And I’m not talking about just a few measly inches of snow - try at least 20.) To further add to the sense of instability that has rotted this company to its core, if you’re not salaried, don’t bother trying to work the extra hours just so you can go unappreciated - they won’t pay you for them anyways. That or they’ll just question why you worked OT for a workload that was beyond your means or that expected of your position and bully you into changing your timesheet.
It should also be noted that there is a horrible trend of nepotism that has been acknowledged by the CFO herself. If you don’t quit before they fire you, and usually that’s conveniently right before their company policy allows you to claim benefits (90 days), you’ll have just wasted that much more time feeling miserable and not looking for a more fulfilling job.
