Leadership is more interested in appearances than actual substantive, meaningful work that creates value for clients. Given the choice between time spent pushing forward on client deliverables or useless reports that will go unread and ultimately fade into Outlook’s trashbin, Ensemble leadership will always choose busywork. I’m judged on my ability to get my direct reports to buy into creating this trash, instead of doing their day jobs.
