Pros
When I was 31 years old, I lost my husband to a five-year battle with a very rare cancer. We sought treatment at many of the country’s leading cancer centers and have experienced both the best and worst sides of health care. As a caregiver, I have had my heart lifted by amazing clinicians who took time to explain circumstances to me in a way that I could understand or by nurses who held my hand when the news was not good. I have also been incredibly angry and frustrated at the lack of communication and broken processes that often occur in health care. With a degree in Health Administration, I don’t often get to touch an individual patient’s life, but I am committed every day to making the Revenue Cycle easier to navigate so patients can focus on the important aspects of healing. After 15 years in Revenue Cycle, I joined the Ensemble team and found a group of people with the same passion for excellence and heart for compassion that have become part of my daily life. As I strive to improve Revenue Cycle performance for our clients, I try to always remember the life lessons I learned as the caregiver for my husband.
