Pros
I got along really well with my colleagues, and some of them are still my closest friends. It could be a really fun environment when it was just the recruiters and PMs. We would do occasional happy hours, which I really enjoyed. The Program Managers were top notch. I learned so much from both of them and they were always willing to give me help if I needed it. I use some of the skills they taught me to this day.
Cons
Benefits were mediocre: 13 days of PTO and a very expensive health care plan, 401K contribution is nothing to write home about. Salaries are quite low for internal staff. CEO is unprofessional and out of touch - when I was there, he didn't know what a recruiter's job entailed, and would admonish us for not hitting unrealistic goals every week/month. He would also yell and use vulgar language when he did not agree with a service provider or an employee, and talked down to back office employees. My boss knew he was wrong, but was a yes man anyway because he knew that disagreeing with the CEO wouldn't get him anywhere. When I and several of my other colleagues resigned in quick succession (without doing anything wrong or unprofessional!) he made the day we gave our notice our last day and advised us to leave by 1PM. There was no thank you for the work we had done, and he acted like the resignation was a personal betrayal and that we were not "grateful enough".
