Pros

Many employees are very dedicated and talented. Despite many cons, many clients are served because of these exceptional front-line service providers.

Cons

The reviews are clearly one extreme or another. I am guessing the positive reviews by current employees were encouraged or paid off. I often feel like I am an actor on The Sopranos working here. People get fired for no clear reason, people get special treatment, and unethical actions happen on a regular basis. People who speak up and try to keep services, clients, and ethics the primary focus are seen as getting in the way. This organization focuses a lot on "show" and "tell," but ultimately doesn't seem to have the people they serve as the main element to consider in all decisions and actions. Ethics are often thrown out the window to be able to make something look good. And there is a lot of preaching about how to manage but then those with the ultimate power do not use these same approaches. This is an organization where you could potentially get experience, but if you choose to work here, go in with a clear and concrete plan to be an observer and a hard worker, but always be ready to leave because you just don't know what could happen. I predict something scandalous will eventually happen here. I just hope it isn't at the cost to people they serve, but it might be, because those with power are not thinking about how to protect those people. Be careful working here. Nobody has your back. Though they will say they do. And if you have an option for liability insurance in your line of work, purchase it at the highest level while you work here.

Pros

My experience as a Disaster Case Manager involved supporting families affected by natural disasters in a highly mobile, field-based role requiring extensive travel. No two days were the same, and the work was fast-paced, dynamic, and required adaptability in constantly changing environments. The role was meaningful and allowed me to provide trauma-informed, compassionate support to individuals and families during critical moments of need.

Cons

Over time, the demands of the role—including extensive travel, challenging field conditions, and limited safety supports—became difficult to sustain in relation to overall workload. These conditions contributed to increased stress and impacted staff morale. Concerns regarding field safety and the need for stronger protective measures were raised but were not consistently addressed through policy updates.
