Pros
they have good gear at some of nicer properties, thats about it....................Oh, and vaca days roll over at the end of the year. Partly because it's hard to take a vaca (they have blackout months where no-one can vaca............mainly summer traveling months.)
Cons
this is a company that cares only about the almighty dollar, defenitely not the employees that help it run. Low pay with laughable raises (if they feel you are qualified), and sales managers who know zero about audio/visual systems. The priorities are so off w/in management it makes technicians lives absolute hell. Sales managers will sell things that don't even exist to make money, and leave you there trying to explain to the client why they are spending so much for so little. and when sales aren't there, expect to to work free days and take salary cuts! Advancement is possible, but when they up your responsibility and title but keep your pay relatively equal...........people don't even want promotions. Swank is very conducive to techs who are fresh out of school and will work long hours for peanuts. If you have a brain though, you will RUN not WALK from Swank. Also, their large shows are run by freelancers that they pay top dollar. Their techs are basically slaves that they only trust with tripod screens and flipcharts. If you want to be a REAL tech, work for a REAL company.
