Pros
My job satisfaction level has been high since joining almost a year ago (the highest of my 8 year career in fact). Enable is committed to delivering on time which can add pressure to meet deadlines, however there is absolutely no expectation of late working or additional hours of any sort. Staff at all levels (including senior management) are genuinely free and encouraged to leave the office on time and go home to strike a healthy work-life balance - and they do. Pay is competitive with the industry and in my opinion surpasses expectations for an out-of-city employer. A recent review and bolstering of the staff benefits package has quashed my only concerns regarding the lack of standard and expected base-level perks. This benefits review is one of many examples I have encountered since joining which make it clear that the company is willing and able to adapt as it grows. Enable is very generous in many respects, most notably providing free food and drink to all staff and laying on regular social events which are majority funded by Enable. No expense is spared for the milestone social events such as the Christmas party - entirely funded by Enable for all employees AND '+1's, with an open bar a generous allocation of local hotel rooms also paid for. A discretionary Christmas bonus is also offered to all staff which is tied to the company's performance for the year. Enable's generosity is also clear to see in its regular charity support. Career development is a key focus here and all training required is provided and reviewed on a regular basis, with ample time allocated for this. Graduates and juniors can certainly can have confidence that time will be invested in them from day one. The offices are modern, well-maintained, comfortable and furnished with quality fittings and equipment. It is a nice environment to work in and maintains a polished and professional look without being stuffy and corporate. Smart dress is encouraged but left open to individual interpretation, and there no requirement for ties or suit jackets. There is good variety in the work that we do, meaning that a fresh challenge is never far away.
Cons
Performance feedback is lacking (though I note that this item is targeted for attention in this year's road map). More often than not, there is no way of knowing whether a recently completed piece of work met expectations or not.
