Pros

The team had some great people working for them

Cons

Hanmei is the single worst founder I've met to date. She has no experience running and organization, is a terrible leader, and almost always rejects any employee ideas. Time and time again she disappoints senior leadership in her lack of willingness to collaborate with those she hired to seek council from, as well as her "Co founder". The other "Co-founder" CX has no power and is not an equal in decision making. You can feel the tension between the two whenever they are in a meeting together. The biggest concern I have is for those who remain in Sales. We made a hiring push Q2 22' based on salaries and commission structures that retroactively were changed after the new class had a few weeks in seat. The updated offers have are a 30% cut from what was advertised to hire our sales talent. Majority of these new hires quit existent jobs to This "tactic" from Hanmei was deliberate, predatory, and unethical. This is ultimately my reason for departure as I couldn't ethically support this decision from the Founder.

Pros

There aren't any pros working for Empowerly. The company might seem great and look prestigious on the outside, but that's all just a facade to hide how rotten and toxic the company truly is. Employees keep leaving because working here is miserable and unrewarding. Save yourself the trouble and stay away. Trust me.

Cons

The company isn't interested in investing in employee growth at all, and simply views them as nothing more than disposable pawns. You'll be subjected to working long hours, assigned brutal workloads, and made to meet unreasonable expectations all the time without any support from management. If you fall behind for whatever reason, don't expect to have a job by the end of the month. The base salary is terrible, and there aren't a lot of opportunities to advance, so don't even bother trying your best, because the only reward you'll be getting is a heavier workload. The leadership is controlling and abusive; they need to know what's going on at all times, and require employees to get their approval before doing anything, which does nothing but hinder progress and waste time. They also have a tendency to yell at anyone who displeases them. The management isn't any better; they often harass employees for their own amusement and bully them into running personal errands for them.
