Pros

Flexibility of scheduling, Professionalism of scheduling staff, 24/7 support of interpreters, owner takes the time to know us and our families, owner and staff care for us and our well-being, owner and staff model healthy work habits for us to learn from as well.

Cons

With this industry (Sign language/Spoken Language interpreting), communication is highly complex. Throughout the initial assignment info intake, assessment of the source language preference, from the physical-geographical knowledge of rural to inner-city locations of services, to placement of the most appropriate interpreter, to on-site delivery of service issues, to the handling a completion of job, and then subsequent feedback of consumer and interpreter, all the down to billing procedures can be a great challenge at times, yet as I stated above, these are minimal due to the intelligent speed at which the staff of Empire rises to solve these kind of challenges.

Owner and management cares about employees a lot. Great team to work for.

Sporadic nature of the job. Not easy to get enough hours for a full time position.
