Don't work here - Healthcare Assistant Ellern Mede Group Employee Review

Pros

Free meals, if you get the chance to actually eat them (considering you get measly breaks during your 13 hour shifts) Feeling like you are helping the patients being around them 13 hours a day

Cons

Bullying in the workplace and HR do nothing about it, cover it up and then promote the two perpetrators within the year. A joke. Do not care about your wellbeing (you have to do multiple restraints a day and get no supervision, debriefing or any wellbeing checks - horrendous)

Pros

There were no pros to working here.

Cons

- 12 hour shifts with minimal breaks. - Patients receiving poor treatment and having to witness this first hand. - The building had a ‘wobble room’ for staff to cry in, need I say more. - Management are disgusting. The owner of the company comes in and will demand you to be doing something but has no idea how anything is run. He chooses patients based off how much money they have. - Difficult for patients to recover as the food on offer is so disgusting even if they chose to eat. Most of the patients are not offered any decent therapeutic treatment, so will just eat to get out. Unsafe. - Staffing levels are beyond unsafe. You or a peer will likely be assaulted or feel threatened. - Working here will haunt you- do not do it.

Pros

Hardworking service supporting young people with long term eating disorders. All levels of staff work extremely hard to support each other and staff. Senior Managers are always open and approachable. During my time with the company I have always felt valued and listened too.

Cons

Can be stressful when working directly with young people
