Pros

Teaches you a lot about sales potential to make a lot of money builds your confidence Lots of transferable skills progression meet plenty of people

Cons

Cons Isnt what is advertised - it is NOT a marketing company. it is a direct sales company selling internet on the street 100% commission based - no basic pay so if you have a bad day (including having problems out side of work so your mood isnt 100%) you make no money Cult like environment - if you mention any issues you have you get told off. you cant talk about money issues, you cant talk about negative things. One guy was actually shouted at once in front of everyone because he needed to pay for someone else's hotel room on a business trip and he didnt want to. youre told to believe that every other job is awful and anyone who works anywhere else is an idiot who hates their life. lying to interviews - need to trick them into joining the business. you get in trouble if they dont want to work with you even though it is a bit of a rubbish job on the surface new people are treated like babies - you need to tread on egg shells around them and convince them they have the best job in the world hypocritical - told never to discuss results then told off for not getting the results. Costly - need to pay for other peoples travel as it is seen as an "investment" in them, if you cant afford to then youre told just to make more sales to compensate Long hours - 72+ hours a week, excluding travelling to and from the office Not as friendly as it first appears - the atmosphere in the office is fantastic, but fake. told not to hang out with people from the office in your own time. its for business, not making friends. One girl wasnt in one morning so I asked where she was and I was told that I shouldnt worry about other people and why should I care (she was having a lot of family problems at the time and I was genuinely concerned). If someone quit we wernt allowed to talk to them. Help isnt always available - If youre struggling with something in sales, you couldnt get help or a 'sit down' unless you earn it.. by doing more sales.. To me it makes no sense. I went 2 days doing no sales despite normally being one of the best in the office and my leader refused to help me because I needed to earn it.. massive turn over of staff - new people will be sacked if they dont learn right away despite it being tough to get to grips of at first, especially considering they tend to hire people with no sales experience unfair treatment - if you do really well one day, but the person you were with didnt, youre in trouble. there is only so much help you can give someone while youre also trying to earn money. but then if you help them too much and your own performance is affected then youre also in trouble. you were told to give away sales to new people so they wouldnt quit.. when you also have bills to pay?? Poor equipment - broken tables and scruffy banners for brand awareness. not only looks bad on the client but the company too when youre conducting interviews. No gazebos provided either for the winter months, need to buy from your own pocket despite the huge profits of fortitude. self employed - but without the perks. no independence and you cant do what you want. forced to come in early and stay late to "develop yourself" when you should in theory be able to just sell and go home. youre a self employed employee. you cant have a day off without being scolded, no matter the reason. one girl was hospitalised due to a serious medical condition (not sure what, thats not my place to ask) and the MD rolled her eyes because she was taking a week off. one girl was on crutches and MD was heard saying something along the lines of how she cant be bothered with her negativity and everyone just had to ignore the girl. forced to travel - made to go on a business trip (which you pay for, atleast £150 per trip, more if youre made to pay for others) atleast once a month, preferably every 3 weeks. no consideration for family or even medical commitments. I guess you can just see your family outside of your normal 72 hour week.. not appreciative of staff - every person needs to pay £50 to go to the staff christmas party, and pay for plus ones, even though the managing director earns over £4000 per week (this is mentioned constantly)

Pros

Quick progression scheme I.e. Can literally become a manager within a year and beyond, great pay, energetic, positive and exciting atmosphere, lots of opportunities to travel around the country

Cons

Long hours, commission only, negative customers, not a great work-life balance, travel is not payed, bad weather when working outdoors can be a disadvantage but all comes down to your attitude
