Taking a job at EDMCI has been the most rewarding decision I've ever made. The company is in a fantastic position for growth with a sales team which has an unquenchable thirst for acquiring new customers, competent and fair management with a strong presence, and - most importantly - talented and motivated employees. Working in the shop, I've come to love each and every person I work alongside, even the older grumpy ones. It honestly feels like we're one big family. The diversity and culture of the shop is just fantastic. People here come from all different types of backgrounds and have unique experience from across all sorts of industries. This helps create a company culture of learning and inclusion. Coworkers are always willing to share their expertise, opinions and many, many jokes. The funniest and kindest people I've ever met are all located in this panel shop. It's not all sunshine and unicorns, however. There are a few things that negatively impact morale, and therefore productivity, among employees. The hours can vary greatly from shortened days during slow periods, to very long days when we are slammed with work. This is admittedly very normal in this industry and in fairness to management, they do try to give as much notice as possible when schedule changes become necessary. But it can be stressful, so develop good financial habits and make sure you have some healthy ways to unwind in your personal time and you'll be just fine. Since new hires do come from all sorts of different backgrounds, a standardized training process is lacking. Some people hit the ground running because they've done similar work in the past and this expectation gets subconsciously applied to every new hire and creates a feeling of competition, rather than learning. Everyone gets up to speed eventually, but it would be nice to see some more support for new hires. If you're starting work at EDMCI, please take this advice: ASK QUESTIONS! There are hundreds of collective years of wiring and fabrication experience between the employees here and they are helpful and willing to teach (sometimes even too willing. try and keep the questions specific, or you'll end up learning about the history of circuit breakers). Taking feedback well and listening to other's advice will take you a long way and undoubtedly make you a fantastic electrician. Other reviews here paint a picture of incompetent and unfair management. This couldn't be further from the truth. Aside from cultivating an impressive group of talented individuals, management has done a great job making sure employees have resources they need to succeed. All you need to do is ask, and you will be heard. I've never seen a reasonable request for anything get denied by management and employees are generally empowered to do their jobs the way they fit. Every expanding business has their growing pains. If former employees' biggest complaints are "my boss makes me work hard" and "there's a line for the bathroom", then I think that speaks volumes for how well management is actually doing. Overall, EDMCI is moving in the right direction and I couldn't be more proud to work here. Each day is a new challenge and I've learned more here than I could have imagined. You'll get out whatever you put in. If you work hard, show up on time and have a good attitude, you'll have a very rewarding career. If you play around all day, show up whenever you want or have a victim complex, well... You'll probably think this place is unfair and you'll blame the production manager for it.

-Pay is abysmal -The management is extremely abrasive. They lie, talk down to everyone, and honestly don't do much of anything productive. They foster a fear-based work environment where employees are scared to even seek their help or input due to every request being met with blind anger and gaslighting. Nine times out of ten, they just seem outraged that someone would expect them to actually do his job rather than come in late, leave early, and loiter all day. -The management is like a circus. Always trying to pretend this is one big happy family when it is convenient but when it actually matters, they are nowhere to be seen. -Get ready for a revolving door of employees. Management pays horribly and treats employees horribly so people come and go frequently once they realize what it is like here. -The HR is an absolute mess.It fails to maintain a positive work environment and only serves to defend the toxic management.
