Horrible Place to Work, AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Marketing Edge by Ascential Employee Review

Pros

- Edge is part of a global company (Ascential) - Not much else

Cons

I have thought a lot about this topic since leaving Edge. There is so much you can say is a con for Edge its laughable. One of the central problems is the leadership team and CEO. Who is the leader? Employees can't answer that because there are two that could take the role of CEO. Neither options really engage with their employees. There needs to be one leader with experience running a data company put in charge. Beyond that, the next level down is not much better. The CMO is uninterested in his employees or their development, it is very clear that he is only concerned with making himself look better to his peers and leadership. He is constantly on his phone and disengaged, even during meetings. He never defends his employees or their work. I only ever heard from him when he criticized my work. I came in early and stayed late to make sure I got my work done, but he never thought it was enough. He is always working and expects his employees to do the same, because of this my manager was never happy with my work, because it rolls down hill and she was getting just as much criticism. It's obvious that hes under-qualified to lead the Marketing team for such a growing company since it's common discussion behind his back amongst his team in the Boston office (I'm sure the other offices share the opinion, but I mainly worked with the team in Boston). Because of this culture, my manager was one of the worst offenders behind his back. She was always telling other employees that she should be CMO, and was generally gossipy and manipulative about the whole team, which has lead to a lot of the team getting fired or leaving. You can't really blame her and no one corrects her because it is the culture of that office and Edge to be manipulative. PRNG was a much more positive office. Prior to Edge, this company used to be 4, but the Boston office is mostly made of former Clavis and PlanetRetail RNG teams. The old clavis team are extremely manipulative, negative, and gossipy, which seems to be the culture of how they ran as a company. Since then, they have poisoned the Boston office. Which is why I would advise potential employees to avoid this place, or else you might be fired or "made redundant" because of all the games.
