Pros

The trials that you will encounter will teach you how to be mentally tough. You will learn how to work with people with different personalities and you will get experience with interviewing, inventory management and travel opportunities. The pay can be really good if your sales is good. Technically it's not just sales because of the management opportunity.

Cons

The culture is very cult like. Businesses have adopted cult like cultures over the years. It will start out very welcoming and friendly. You will have people wanted to get to know things such as what motivates you and how your family/spousal situation is. This may seem harmless at first but the intention is to find out if they will have issues with family/spouse objections to how much time you will have to work or how the pay isn't steady. The first pay check will be horrible and they will hint that to you. Cults take advantage of people's vulnerability. It will come off very similar to a pyramid scheme however, they will technically say it's not because you don't have to purchase the products that you will have to sell. Most of your time will be spent in Sams Club or Costco. They will use play on words such as "mastering the skill set" during the interview when they mention the "potential" pay of about $1,500 biweekly. The goal is to seclude you from your family and friends and they will make you feel bad if you miss "team nights" or voluntarily hanging out with the boss. The boss will invite you to hang out but then begin to play favoritism. This will make you want to always be apart of the "in crowd" and poof your time is spent mostly with the people at the office and the boss. Everything is strategic and built on impulse. Sometimes they will lie and say they fired certain "leaders" when in fact the people just quit. They do this so it doesn't raise red flags about the turnover rate. You will SACRIFICE time and you world becomes the business. Every conversation is planned so be careful who you share your personal information with. Manipulation is huge. For example, notice how they will try their best to not a lot any new people speak to each other, hang out or even walk down the stairs together after meetings. You will only do will if you are great at sales. The turnover rate is extremely high. Once they know your biggest motivator they call the "step 7", they will use that as a manipulative tool. The system is a Build Break Build Mentality. Yes you can be successful in this business, however, the particular office in Birmingham has money driven mentally and so if you can not sale, comprise your values then it's not the best place for you. You will have to lie to people and you will have to manipulate people. Every office is different but the owner of this office admits to showing favoritism and enjoys the "kissing up mentality". I've literally experienced it all. I gave up my time fresh from college. I "game planned" every conversation I had to have with any of the individuals. I traveled. I ran road trips. I did the after hour meetings and the hang outs with the boss. I was third in place to being the assistant manager and was able to sit in and watch the owner do 1st and 3rd round interviews and with having the pitch of 3rd round interviews. I fired as quickly as I hired and I was apart of conversations where bashing others were okay. I've seen the good and the bad. I was apart of the good and the bad. This experience will teach you about yourself and how to maneuver through life. Some good lessons come from this place and so I don't regret my experience. I chose to leave because I couldn't compromise anymore of my values. Some people are okay with the things that go on there and make the decision to run their office completely different once they get that opportunity which is great. I just wish someone was as honest with me about the business as I am being right now, possibly my outcome would have been different because of the mentality I would have had going in. Now my story can help someone decide if they truly want to work for the company and not be manipulated into working for it. Notice it's only 7 reviews about this company and it's been in existence for at least 2 years. Why? They hire people to take down the negative comments. I know this because that's how advanced I was in the company to be told certain things such as. I hope this helps.

Pros

As an intern for this company I was given many leadership roles where I was able to grow personally, and professionally. You are able to master an invaluable skill set, learn how to run a business, and excel as an overall human being. This is an experience that I would never trade for the world. I am eternally grateful for my time at Edge Promotions, and am a better person for this internship.

Cons

The office is a bit toasty

Pros

You get paid based on performance in the field, if you're a good salesman who doesn't care about being judged, giving your life to your job, etc this is a good place. They do teach you inspirational stuff I guess

Cons

Read the longest review, posted up this month, that is the most accurate description of this business and it's model I have seen to date. I worked here for a while, and they use tools of manipulation to "empower" their employees. You are guilted into slaving your life to this company, spending all of your time in a sams club or Costco, id rather be in jail than do that again. Working insane hours for mediocre pay, as stated it's a build break build mentality based off of people's impulse. They will "impulse" you into literally everything, you won't feel manipulated unless you're cognizant of what's going on. They will try to inspire you by making you listen to inspirational speakers, and the more you climb the ranks the more you will see the BS. They will also take your loved ones if they don't support the Hours and the pay etc etc and manipulate them into being on their side so you're trapped in a sense making it harder to leave.
