Pros

Best temping company I've heard of (I have worked for three so far, and all the temps talk with each other about where they work) Excellent starting wage - was $18/hr when I started, $5/hr more than closest competitor They literally started the trend of temp companies in Seattle paying a decent wage Consistent wage increases and occasional bonuses Consistent work available during week and weekends, except off-season Paychecks are direct-deposit by default every other Friday Never had a pay dispute in my 3.5 years of working for them Benefits available to those who meet certain guidelines (surprising for temp company) Thoughtful and accessible management who are genuinely nice people Great scheduling and time-clock application Scheduling is self-initiated - just pick shifts you can work with the app and show up! Fun work environments, and a multitude to choose from Useful and insightful training that was fun time well spent Bright, friendly co-workers - haven't met a single Echo employee I don't like No non-compete agreement (which are not enforceable in WA State for food service laborers ): many Echo employees go on to work for other companies where they have been a temp. However, I did this for two months before I realized I made a mistake and went back to working for Echo.

Cons

Hiring took a while due to unforeseen circumstances, but was well worth the wait Rarely, but sometimes, shifts will change to similar times but different locations - be prepared to be flexible During off-season can be difficult to find work, but that goes for the whole industry - I think Echo is better than most due to having clients like Microsoft Not a good choice for people looking for in-house advancement opportunities, but definitely a good place to improve or learn new skills, make professional contacts, and experience what it's like working at a bunch of different places

Pros

Hands-on, in-person training on how to be an effective food server at formal banquets (corporate holiday parties, weddings, celebrations of life, etc.) - what's expected, what to do and not to do, how to properly mount and carry an oval tray full of entrees or dishes, which side to clear from and which side to place food from, how to set the table. I work directly for a catering company now instead of as a temp, and we mainly hire Instawork temps for huge parties: It's really a crap shoot as to whether or not they'll know what to do, or how to dress and act appropriately, because there's little-to-no training. Companies like Echo do a lot better job at preparing their employees for the industry.

Cons

No real opportunity for advancement within the company, but Echo's clients end up hiring the best temps for direct employment.

Pros

The company has a nice starting wage and allows the flexibility that I need in a 2nd job(I sign up for the shifts that I want to work). Unlike other companies that give you a set shift. This is extremely helpful to me. All I need to do is select the shifts that I want to work and then do my job to the best of my abilities. The company provides initial training and gives me the general knowledge on what to expect when working for different companies/venues. Since I can pick my shifts it gives me the opportunity to work at different areas and types of events. It makes every shift a little different and more enjoyable. The management of the company is wonderful. They have always been responsive and do what they can to answer any questions or concerns that I might have. I know this can be difficult since they might need to get answers from other sources.

Cons

I don't have any Cons at this time. This company is exactly what I need as a 2nd job.
