Pros

-Higher quality of patient care than many general practice clinics in the area. -Excellent OSHA safety protocols in place. -Monthly staff meetings where techs and doctors alike can openly and freely voice their opinions. Breakfast is also supplied by the company. -Techs and doctors genuinely care about the patients in their care (which is the bare minimum in this profession, honestly). -Vet tech appreciation week saw (good quality) lunches provided to technicians every day of the week.

Cons

-Senior employees are either very hardworking or very lazy, no in between. -Lazy technicians who play on their phones when they are supposed to be monitoring a patient's anesthesia are never corrected on their poor work ethic. Those employees directly influence other employees into not wanting to work as hard because it is so easy for them to get away with it. -Most of management is incredibly unprofessional, especially Kelly & Kayleen. Kelly has the worst attitude in the entire building yet is the manager of reception. Kayleen is condescending and unnecessarily sassy at all times, leading the entire employee base to despise the surgery team. -Company does not respect scheduled vacation times that are submitted far enough in advance. -Company has no respect for a work/life balance. -Doctors will take on emergencies at 7:55pm (5 minutes before close) with no consideration for the lives of the technicians, thus forcing the technicians to stay SEVERAL hours past their scheduled shift end time. -Overtime must be "approved" and if not approved (despite the doctors quite literally MAKING you stay well past your shift end), the company does not pay you 1.5x your pay (which is very illegal according to the Fair Labor Standards Act). -Don't get sick or have any emergencies because management will have the entire practice gossiping about you behind your back. -The gossip culture is thriving and a lot to deal with if you are someone who prefers to not be immersed in drama. -Management does not respect employee availabilities, so there are always a multitude of shifts available for other technicians to pick up due to scheduling conflicts. -Many times, the closing shift technicians get stuck with the brunt of the work from the day. -Entry level technicians with no experience and little to no skillset will earn higher hourly wages than technicians with multiple years of experience and an education. -No focus on continuing education opportunities. -Practice rights recently sold to Southern Veterinary Partners, so clinic is no longer a private practice and is a corporation. -Southern Veterinary Partners state that they help technicians afford school but then walk back on their word. -Senior doctors discuss their multiple homes and plethora of vacation opportunities while technicians with experience and education struggle to put food on the table and pay bills.
