      Great way to develop skills and work under a PE, hard to reach upper management, bad pay - Engineer EVS Employee Review

      Pros

      EVS is a great place to learn some CAD skills and work closely with Professional Engineers, they will reimburse you for your FE and PE exams. Some of the people here are great. Keep your eyes and ears open - you will learn a lot. Remote work is a plus.

      Cons

      You will be given salary pay and constantly work over 40 hours a week. Every project feels the same and there is little room for creativity. EVS offers bad pay + a tiny bonus pool and tell you that its "market average". Other firms will offer you +25% more for your knowledge and pay you hourly. Upper management will break promises and lie to you when it comes to working towards your career goals. EVS is losing a lot of experienced engineers because of all the reasons stated above

      Thank you for your feedback. It is clear you did not have a good experience during your time at EVS, for which I am sorry that I failed to demonstrate who we really are and what EVS is all about. You are correct that nearly all engineers are salary and that the average per week is 43 hours. With our culture and compensation package, we are pleased that our staff retention rate is 90% - consistently better than the industry average. Regarding the cabin, we are happy that our Chairman, Dennis Kim, shares his personal assets so that EVS staff can spend time there with coworkers and their families to build relationships and make memories. That is the EVS way and it’s something for which we are proud. (I’m sorry if it was misread as flashy.) The cabin is open to all employees, and looking at this year alone, we’ve had over 100+ people from EVS spend time there. It is a popular activity and something I plan to do more of as we continue to grow. Andy Kim, President

      Pros

      - Rapidly growing company - Great culture, people genuinely care for one another - Intentional and frequent salary and promotion discussions - Lots of room for growth with the company - Leadership is accessible and willing to hear ideas

      Cons

      - Rapid growth has its downsides, processes are not always documented well - Solar/storage industry is chaotic so workload can fluctuate - Quick growth means there are a LOT of new people, and ratio of experienced to new hires is lower than ideal - Entry level work can be tedious
