Pros
Good experience if you want to work in medical communication/med affairs, you get experience with a lot of different deliverables and clients. Client teams work well together to achieve client goals.
Cons
What you’ll hear in your interview: “We pride ourselves on having a great work/life balance!” On the job: you can easily burn out in months. What you’ll hear in the interview: “We look out for one another and try to help if things get overwhelming”. On the job: There simply aren’t enough people, and no amount of “checking in” changes that. Pandemic just makes things worse, colleagues ping on Teams every day of the week, from before 9am to well after 9pm. What you’ll hear in the interview: “Yeah we work hard, and there are some tasks like ad boards that you have to work after hours or on weekends, but that’s not the norm and you just work less the following Monday”. On the job: it’s the norm, there is no getting back those hours.
