Pros

- Exposure to large, high-profile sustainability and climate projects - Well-known global brand that looks good on a CV - Reasonably stable employment and structured processes - Some talented and passionate individuals who genuinely care about their work

Cons

ERM in Sydney is a very profit-driven organisation, which unfortunately often comes at the expense of quality and people. There’s a strong focus on financial performance, and as a result, subpar work can sometimes be pushed through just to meet deadlines or targets. The company has a lot of bureaucracy, which makes it difficult to get things done efficiently. It can feel like processes and internal politics take priority over actual project outcomes or client satisfaction. While it’s a stable place to work and can provide some exposure to big projects, the pay is generally lower compared to industry standards, and the benefits are minimal. Overall, it’s an okay company if you’re looking to gain experience or a stepping stone in sustainability consulting, but not ideal if you value quality work, autonomy, or genuine care for employees and clients.

Pros

Cool projects. Diversity of work

Cons

Basically every 15 minutes need to be billed to a client. If not you will be penalized even if they say you’re doing great.
