Good company to learn - Intern EMO Energy Solutions Employee Review

- Energy/Commissioning Team works very well together, is well managed, and always getting new exciting commissioning and auditing work - Pay and advancement is very good - Subsidiary of a larger NYC mechanical design company, but office life feels like a small company, little to no red tape - On-site work about 1/4 of the 40 hour week, with travel to NYC about once a month, expenses reimbursement - Lots of learning/training/certification opportunities encouraged and compensated for

- Periods of extremely busy on-site work (Summers/Fall) - occasional (rarely) travel required on weekends to be on-site on Monday - Using personal car for local on-site work

Friendly people, helpful co-workers: the regular employees, mostly college students for the summer, were happy to show me what they knew.

For an unpaid intern, not a lot of direction. I approached them, and I think they were just being nice to have me come work there, but I had to figure out things for myself. Also tended to underestimate what I could do.
