Pros
The pay is excellent and tax free. Heidelberg is a nice town to live in.
Cons
Some of the management is so bad it is almost unbelievable. Be extremely careful of which lab you join. At least 50% of group leaders will make your life a living hell. There are good groups there too, but they are definitely outnumbered by the bad. Don't say you weren't warned...
