Pros
Gain of insight into the mechanisms that make the Russian army a Potemkin village
Cons
The nature of the international boarding school community is unfortunately such that a few will exploit it by leaving the country in which they disgraced themselves to start anew in another country, just to repeat their mistakes on unsuspecting students all over again. Unfortunately, EF is the perfect place for such people, if they can look good on paper and sound good for an hour or two, since there’s little competition for the suppressed salaries and oversight is thousands of miles away. EF’s putting desperate people in charge of employees with at-will contracts is a recipe for driving out effective, revered teachers and retaining underperforming sycophants, further exacerbating the deterioration of communication and morale. EF is a painful stepping stone to getting work at Brooklyn Friends, thus a middleman well worth cutting out.
