Pros
Your fellow teachers become good friends through shared trauma. Also, the building administration at the Jr. High School care about you.
Cons
You think today's kids can gaslight you? Well they've got nothing on the central administration and the Superintendent. You're overworked and questioned constantly whether tenured or non-tenured. You're made to feel like your hard work and expertise is always in competition with your supervisor and other central administrators' title versus them using your knowledge of the students and your efforts as an asset. Central adminstrators will make personal moves against you if they don't like you personally or you don't kiss up to them. If you need backing from central office with parent, classroom, or curriculum issues, forget it.
