Pros

New stuff is genuinely cloud native, there's an honest intention and plan to get rid of what's left in on-prem. Everyone's a nice person to work with and a nice person to know. There's a good and strong office culture Uncounted holiday genuinely is uncounted, work-from-wherever is true, timing's flexible, very few mandatory meetings etc., you really can do your job in the way you feel is best There's always exciting plans for the future and some of them do end up happening Linux laptops

Cons

It used to be a flat company where conversations ran freely, but as it grows it's becoming stratified and many conversations are now "for management only" Career progression is vague and plans for advancement are always subject to sudden change or disappearance when the next big strategic plan comes along There is genuinely budget for things like training and conferences, and an expectation to spend it, but nobody really knows who should be spending it or how so it's quite hard to actually get the cash out. Much of the tech is very cloud-native best-practice but lots of the company structure and processes aren't. NIH syndrome is falling but still very much there - if you make it to the conferences but not to the management meetings you can end up frustratedly unable to advance a case for industry best-practice to anybody.

Hi - thanks for taking time to leave feedback. Your observations around how we could be clearer on career progression and use of the L&D budget are well made and certainly things we’re aiming to make substantial progress on in 2022, although I know the proof will be in actually delivering those things! Your comment on our “plan to get rid of what’s on prem” interested me as we have always been exclusively a cloud SaaS company and have never offered or delivered on prem software solutions. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding what you mean by “on prem” though. Anyhow, thanks again for taking the time to comment. Graham (CPO)

Pros

I enjoyed my time at Duco as I was able to learn and grow as an individual and a tech

Cons

Some of the cons I had that sometimes it was tough to converse with my colleagues as some of them were in a different time zone

Pros

Convenient location in midtown. Good group of people in NY - revenue focused office

Cons

Management is completely blind to the fact company is becoming less competitive. Innovation is extremely slow paced. Office is small and building is dirty. Company is a shell of its former self and revenue is rapidly trending down. Big mistake to join the “vision” management has. Company is trying to sell and product often loses to competitors or AI builds.
