Pros

A great collaborative team with a strong established culture. You really feel like you are making a difference with the students and there is ample room for support, celebration of achievements, etc.

Cons

Because it is a small team, there is a lot of overlap in departmental responsibilities which leads to everyone having to support other areas as well (e.g., social media, teaching, curriculum). That said, this is a great place to develop professional and learn more about the logistics and procedures involved in program implementation and the nonprofit world

We appreciate your review! It's so important to make time to celebrate the wins. We believe the cross-department collaboration makes our marketing, programs, and development impact stronger. But we are planning some strategic meetings this month, to review job descriptions and workflow; we want to ensure no one is being asked to do TOO much!

Pros

-I was able to voice my concerns with my manager when it came to assigned tasks -I felt like I learned a lot from my manager in terms of my communication skills -My manager was accommodating when it came to my disability -Flexible work hours -I was able to find support from other (hourly) team members when needed -Some PD opportunities -Diverse staff

Cons

-Low pay -No room for advancement -Onboarding was very sink or swim and felt like an after thought - I didn’t feel heard when it came to sharing ideas and was shut down when I offered a different perspective when it came to big picture -There is a huge disconnect between hourly employees and salaried management team. -Hourly employees were required to be in the office 3x a week while Management showed up whenever they wanted to (if at all) when expectations were set that ALL STAFF needed to be in the office. -Hourly employees often had to pick up the slack when others dropped the ball or part time people quit
