Cons

You can tell you have corporate's running this company. Start-up culture is obviously alien for them but they try and convince you otherwise by slapping on a pair of trainers or putting a tonne of emojis at the end of slack messages . They offer mental health/meditation services as decoration. If they really cared about mental health they would act differently as a company. I've witnessed what I believe to be inappropriate behaviour and mental strain towards some of the younger/more vulnerable staff members by those higher up. There is no formal disciplinary process, there are no set policies and procedures. The policies that are written down can be manipulated to suit the needs of the CEO. Staff here don't last beyond 2 years, they are sacked before their 2 year mark and the reasons do not make sense. Try and question the CEO and he'll get mad, answers like a politician. As one of the other more positive reviewer mentions, it's his company and his rules, so if we don't like it, too bad I guess(!) We saw a lot of the operations team leave suddenly, this was during the thick of a pandemic, where the job market is practically non existent. Issues were constantly arising due to extremely poor management. Things got so bad here people were willing to remain jobless during the most difficult of times than work for such a corrupt and toxic work place. If you're considering a job here, I would strongly avoid. What you get paid isn't worth the hours, the treatment or stress you'll be put through. Management is a complete mess, it's cliquey and you can tell who's chummy with the CEO. Management is the downfall of this place. Dozens should not bark on about how transparent, super cool! and innovative they are, when in reality it's the complete opposite. This place operates like a cult. I wouldn't sell your soul for a dismal salary and an aggressive CEO.

Pros

I have been working at PI for almost a year. I came into the company in a different department. I was under performing and my probation got extended. I was approached by the CEO and was offered a different role. The first thing to understand about PI is that their culture means EVERYTHING to them. I was a good culture fit and they really did what they could to keep me. They offered me a role that was better suited to my strengths. I have been in this role since February and I have now passed my probation and I couldn't be happier. It is very rare that you get recognised for under performing and given a completely different role with a better opportunity. This is the type of place that PI is, they will do their best to help you and support you. The culture of the company makes you want to push yourself, work hard but also stay true to who you are and thrive.

Cons

Working in a start up is a con in its self. There are long hours and it is demanding. The mission we are on requires long hours and it is a demanding mission. There have been some posts left by previous staff members. Working in a founder led company is not for everyone. Sometimes there are decisions made that you might not agree with, but this isn't your company. Transparency is a huge thing here and when decisions are made we are know about it and it is discussed in great length. The main thing to take away is that you always want to be somewhere where the pros out weigh the cons. For me, this is that place.
