Pros
The only pro is the retail exposure you get. I would say you could use DotActiv as a starting point for your career, except their restraint of trade policies will essentially leave you unable to work in any position relative to the experience you gain here. You will have to either switch career fields, or remain unemployed for 6 months. And don't even think of trying to skirt these policies as the CEO is not shy about taking people to the CCMA and even suing them in court if he feels he has been wronged.
Cons
The salaries they pay are completely unlivable, and you can forget about ever getting a resonable increase or bonus, when they are even given on the rare occasion. You will be contractually obligated to pay back the R20000-R40000 training cost if you leave the company before your contract ends, so they essentially trap you in a miserable, low-paying job where you will be horifically overworked and underappreciated. It is extremely common place to be working more than 5 hours overtime every day, which you will of course not be payed for. They hook you with teh promise of completely remote work, but you will still be extremely micro-managed. They will make you use an app on your phone which uses your geo-location to track you during work hours. Even if you are hired for a remote role, they can force you to move to an in-person client office and will claim that it is part of your contract. You will be forced to purchase your own laptop that is in line with the specs they provide. The upper management is inexperienced, and ill-prepared to lead this company (essentially it is all just one family of parents and brothers in the executive roles). You can forget about getting any assitance or guidance from the management, it would be best to rely on your co-workers who have been there for longer than you. Any time that you try to provide constructive feedback to the company you will be made a target for bad treatment. BEWARE of any positive reviews on here - they have almost certainly been posted by the upper management team who are very aware of their negative image on sites like this and have voiced to the company that the negative reviews make it difficult to find new hires to replace people leaving, as there is an extremely high staff turnover here.
