Pros
It was easy to get shifts and were generally pretty flexible except at peak times of the year. Easy, low skill job ideal for those looking for a first job in school. Drivers are paid cash in hand at the end of each night.
Cons
We were not technically employees but were self employed drivers and so the guaranteed hourly rate was below minimum wage with extra per delivery. This means it was not a reliable income source. For a period of time a manager was skimming money off the drivers pay and pocketing it, but this was eventually stopped. When accounting for hours worked, petrol used and car maintenance the pay is very poor and I wouldn't use my car for this kind of work again.
