Pros
Consistent work environment. Everyone respects the work life balance.
Cons
Your experience is highly dependent on your manager. You will be fired and replaced at the end of the year if there is no financial incentive (or penalty) to keep you. There is a reason the position you applied for was vacant. Your manager will complement you on a job well done and in the same breath criticize everything you do with vague language. This is intended to show a pattern of poor performance to aid in terminating your employment as needed. The corporate office is located in Virginia, an “at-will” state, where the reason for your termination is not required. There is a startling lack of empathy towards each department both internally and externally. Managers are encouraged to find cost saving measures which typically includes hiring temp workers or forcing an employee to take on additional roles that were not discussed in the interview. You are replaceable, get used to it. Expect to be required to perform the roles of two or three employees. This is a self-described “lean" company that will give you significant responsibility and few resources to accomplish your goals.
