Pros

Flexible Scheduling: Many locations offer flexible part-time hours, which can be helpful for students or those balancing other responsibilities. Variety of Responsibilities: Employees get exposure to customer service, stocking, merchandising, and cash handling—good for building general retail experience. Internal Growth Opportunities: Moving from Cashier → Sales Associate → Assistant Manager is common, and promotions often happen faster than in other retail stores.

Cons

Low Pay: Hourly wages are often at or close to minimum wage, even for shift leads and assistant managers. High Stress: Stores are frequently understaffed, making shifts busy and physically demanding. “Pay-to-Work” Feeling: Limited hours but high expectations can feel inequitable; sometimes employees are expected to do more work than the pay reflects. Heavy Workload: Stocking, freight unloading, and cleaning can be intense, especially with small teams.

Pros

Pay and benefits are excellent. Fast paced environment with opportunity to learn and move up within the company.

Cons

Mid-level management doesn't understand C-suite direction or is not aligned with that direction. Communication is terrible - lots of conflicting direction and ambiguity. Integrity is supposed to be a core value but VPs & Director lied or withheld the truth numerous times.
