Pros

DO was often fast-paced and require employees to take on multiple roles. This led to opportunities for career growth and advancement. DO allowed for a lot of creative freedom, as there were a tone of established marketing strategies in place yet. Early on we had direct impact on the success of the company. There was a tight-knit team environment where everyone worked together towards a common goal. DO offered a competitive compensation packages to attract top talent.

Cons

Long hours: DO is a global company sometimes to get work done we had to long hours, including nights and sometimes weekends, in order to meet tight deadlines. Limited resources: We sometimes did not have all the resources and budgets for marketing, which limited the scope and effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Limited job security: Startups are inherently risky, and there is always the possibility of layoffs which unfortunately happened to many.

Pros

- lots of ownership - decent middle management - great teammates - learning a lot - older employees do tend to have competitive RSU grants and salaries

Cons

- tons of legacy systems (10+ years version of Ruby on Rails... 10+ years since some products or services were updated, 0 associated automation to help) - last 2y of leadership has brought on tons of reorgs & changes. Example - recommended PTO days quietly went down, got rid of lots of free snacks, anniversary gifts went down $100s of dollars, plenty of silent layoffs - Senior leadership is focused on 1 thing - getting the stock price up. Has no interest in supporting some of our legacy systems that can prop up new products. - new hires are not fitting into our culture. Inflated titles. Empire building. Awarded for submitting buggy AI Slop code. Encourage working on the weekends. Starting to get toxic.
