Pros
The community involvement top notch. The investment in Relay for life is an incredible achievement and a worthy cause. The salary is competitive and fair. The benefits package is very good, including 401k match and profit sharing. PTO accruals are also very generous. There's a good feel of value and contribution that makes you excited to work for this organization. The CEO and Senior management will talk to you like your family just as any other coworker. It feels like a family with many celebrations (Birthdays, Baby showers, Bridal Showers, first time home owner, etc). People are really generous and do food days, bring in donuts, bagels, pretzels. The CEO is very motivating and at the staff meetings its a very fulfilling, positive, truthful and always sets the goal higher, giving employees the encouragement and push to keep working hard. When COVID hit the company was very in tune with the well-being of staff. Instituting a work from home policy for most of the back office to ensure their staff was safe. Now over a year of work from home, it still feels amazing to see what the company has accomplished with a hybrid on-site/at-home staff. Something you NEVER would have thought could work actually works! I think it proves the future of work and even post-pandemic this may help us continue to run the business in the event of bad weather, half days, late days, etc. Don't get me wrong, face to face will have to come back in some form or another, but the tenacity of the teams all came together and got through this unprecedented time shows the dedication of the employees, no matter where they were. We never faltered during this rough time, we actually prospered, and to know we can do that when times are tough (and weird), just see what we can continue to do as we all grow together.
Cons
The aspect of returning full time after the pandemic, spending lots of life in traffic and aggravation on 422. Spending lots of money on gas and contributing to the pollution of the environment. Dental still has its yearly maximums and coverage limits, but I think that's more of an insurance Diamond thing. It has gotten better over the years though. Would love to see a higher maximum FSA but again that's not Diamond's fault, that's regulated by the government. Would love to see Childcare assistance programs especially if we have to return to work full time. Perhaps work from home when they are on Thanksgiving and Christmas Break?
