Pros

This was my first travel manager role and they really do give you all the tools and time to learn before you go live. By the time you are live, you will work closely with your manager. My manager was Mark who had a very similar drive to me. Unfortunately towards the end of my first years, I experienced some personal issues I had to deal with which DAF supported me in fully. Allot of employers wouldn’t have genuine support available but with this support I was able to continue for a further year before I ultimately had to stand away from the business. You can learn so so much here, you are in a great team who also have your back if you have any questions. You can also win allot of trips, airlines, fam trips etc so whilst the basic isn’t that high, it certainly adds up and is definitely worth it if you do enjoy travelling. More hard, build a rapport with your clients and you can easily start to build repeat business which gives you repeat bookings. This isn’t a quick answer, book and off they go. It’s a relationship building career with lots of perks!

Cons

I wouldn’t say there is any. Maybe the salary or the commission could but structured slightly higher, but this could have changed now. For me, at the time and in my first 2 years, the money was good and getting better, week on week. 💪🏼

Pros

Has great potential but it’s exstremely difficult to build a client base with minimal work load Constant incentives e.g vouchers, night outs out, holidays, the list is endless

Cons

They do not pay for overtime & they expect you to stay late constantly. You’re judged for leaving on time even though you have worked your contracted hours. This is also the same when you take an hour lunch break… Misleading company - was informed that we deal with high end clients and we pride ourselves being the best but half the time the enquiry is for a Ryanair or jet2 Flight we can’t compete with. Luxury clients are exstremely rare to come by so it can be difficult to make money when most enquiries are a waste of time. Very difficult to receive enquiries when the company doesn’t market for new business. Very minimal work load, between 2 - 8 enquiries per week. Hugely frustrating. Management can be pushy in terms of where the money is coming from even though you may have had 0 enquiries for that week. The toilet role is sandpaper
