Pros

Many great years with Diageo due to the brands, the people and the travel. Brands you can be proud to work with. Great new head office in Edinburgh. Lots of benefit options. Personally I have been able to maximise flexible working. For the majority, the people are great and I have worked with many wonderful people through the years.

Cons

They are cruising on the coat tales of an out of date reputation, not the reality of being in the business. Lack on inspiring leadership Poor behaviours are ignored in exchange for delivering results. Poor culture within the HR Team, often met with hostility from many when trying to do your job. Major lack of progression - opportunities due to very low movement in more senior roles. Often job changes only come about through re-orgs (which are happening more and more frequently). Diageo is big on promoting their parental leave, flexible working, etc - yet internally people regularly have to fight for flexible working patterns ie. going part time or not being present in front of their line manager.

Pros

Pay & Benefits are wonderful

Cons

Unrealistic expectations towards employees Insurance benefits *Managers* are composed of front-line production leads and those who may oversee or supervise.* The work-life balance is severely lacking, and there are biased managers who add negative connotations to peers' actions without any solid evidence or knowledge. Furthermore, these managers often lack technical expertise regarding machinery and engage in excessive micromanagement of employees. The workplace lacks diversity as defined, and the hiring representatives are typically the same floor leads that micromanage peers creating unfair hiring process at Diageo. Many individuals who have encountered the corrupt practices lead reps in previous jobs are frequently denied opportunities.
