Pros
Easy money. The pay is competitive and most employees just set themselves on cruise control and keep their head down. Managers do not pressure their subordinates to improve or get better. Seems as long as you show up, no one will ask much more of you.
Cons
Complete lack of leadership. Most managers have been promoted only due to seniority level, not through any competency or ability. Most "managers" in my office do would not shy away from telling you they have no desire to manage. Because of this, the office has no direction, no organization, and no motivation to every be better. Any attempt I make to offer performance improvements to management has only been met with the manager telling me they feel things are good enough as is. The only thing management in my office rewards is maintaining the status quo. Furthermore, the benefits and HR policies are stuck very outdated. This is a privately owned company and they only care about making money for the private owners.
