Pros
coffee is good, attracts good coworkers. that’s it
Cons
I worked at Devocion for over a year. I ignored so many red flags because I thought the money was good. The bosses promised us raises which were never delivered, and when we tried to talk about this with them, we were gaslit and told that was never the case. Do not work here if you want to feel respected or cared for by your managers. Money is fine but hours and long and grueling, the tips are pooled weekly so there is no incentive to work busy days. Cash tips (maybe $15 a week) are also taxed which is ridiculous. The CEO only cares about expanding and lining his pockets, not about taking care of his employees. The bosses also would sometimes interact uncomfortably with staff, standing very close to them and touching arms/shoulders without an established boundary. There are other intimacy issues I could detail, but the most I can say is do not work here if you don’t want to be put in uncomfortable situations.
