Pros
I had the privilege of a 7-year professional life with Desquared that far exceeded my expectations. I arrived without any prior experience in such a context, and, taking advantage of the trust, support, and constant guidance, I evolved into the role of UX/UI Designer and Product Manager, working on essential digital products that required creativity and intense dedication. What characterized my daily experience was how truly safe I felt — how free I was to express who I am, ask questions, fiddle, and maybe even make a mistake without worrying that my life was on the line. Throughout the week, the management team was accessible, offering support and direction when needed, and being realistic and human when we needed that too. There was a family sense about the company, an atmosphere of trust, support, and mutual respect. I have never felt like “another cog in the machine,” but rather an important and active member of a team (family) working together towards a shared vision. I was provided with numerous opportunities to grow and sharpen my skills, not just in design thinking and technical tools, but also in team management, stakeholder communication, and end-to-end delivery. Together, we accomplished so much — not just in output, but in this direction, which has fueled the evolution I have experienced as an employee. I could not be more thankful for this path and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a steady, human-centered, and growth-oriented work environment.
Cons
If I had to mention one challenging aspect, it would be that, sometimes, as in many fast-moving environments, prioritization can be strict, with multiple things happening simultaneously, requiring a quick reaction and adjustment. However, this also forced me to mature faster, better manage my time, and think more strategically under high-stakes circumstances. It turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
