Pros
Great work environment if you enjoy the outdoors and the gardens. Some pretty fun people to work with. The healthcare benefits were some of the best I have ever had.
Cons
- Lack of career growth. Promotions are rare, and the few people I know who were promoted worked 10 years or more just to get the 'Manager' title. The company consistently hires from outside rather than promote people from within - A variety of bosses but no leaders. Managment has a track record of not listening to their employees and they seem to lack any motivation for meaningful change. - Pay is low for the work required especially in the events department. 12 - 15 hour shifts are common only to have management berate you for accruing overtime. - No team work ethos. Personalities clash daily with no meaningful guidance from upper management or HR, making the workplace toxic at times. - Severely lacking in diversity. - The company will expect you to give them everything you have, with almost nothing in return. - They do not believe in merit based raises or promotions. - Lack of investment in their employees. No options for additional training, certifications, or meaningful career enhancement.
