Pros
Strong teams across all three verticals, although each vertical is unique and in different office locations. Experience may vary significantly between verticals. Good culture across the teams. Great exposure and learning experience. Surrounded by extremely good people who you can learn a lot from as a junior. Generally very intellectually stimulating work. Cool offices, especially the Houston office. Good compensation.
Cons
Not a true con, but operates under up/out system (as most firms do) - you have to earn your seat if you want to continue on from associate level Hours can be very long, as with any seat in this industry No formal training programs (not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion) Work is very high stress, as with any seat in this industry As a junior you can waste a lot of time waiting for comments, instructions, and occasionally on a task that later gets thrown out or made irrelevant. There can be a lot of very tedious, low-value tasks Strategy / investment thesis and processes can be very narrow - some good opportunities are missed because of this Heavy OG focus is a tough sell in today's market and Mining is somewhat niche - you may be pidgeonholed by working in these verticals
