Pros

New tower, and equipment changes. Even though they didn't do anything to the older section, and it looks half completed.

Cons

You can have the nicest rooms, and newer equipment - but if you treat your Employees poorly it will reflect on your customer base. Hospital recently changed "Administrative Teams" and has taken a nose dive. Current Administration does not care about staff, ratios, work load, or environment. Managers often create a hostile environment towards employees. High turnover rate, general feeling of "this is just a job until I move on". Many long time employees are leaving for other facilities -- should mean something, right? And remember, it's not about the patient - it's about making the Doctor happy. At least that's the current mantra. Oh, and the only Holiday perk was $25 gift card to Publix. However, management felt employees didn't even deserve that this past year.

Pros

You learn a lot working here. It is a very busy ER with a high acuity patient population, so there are always opportunities to gain experience and build your skills. The night shift staff is amazing. The benefits were great when I worked full time.

Cons

The ER is constantly short staffed, which makes it a stressful and unsafe place to work. Management is disorganized and communication is poor. The department is often dirty because there are not enough staff members to keep up with the workload.
