Pros

I've been working at Degree Analytics full-time for a year now. I gravitated towards DA after wanting a career change from consulting, and in particular I wanted a younger company where I'd have a measurable impact. I've found that and more at DA. Great work environment with some really unbelievable people and a first-in-class product suite no one else in the industry offers. Be aware, it's a younger company, so growing pains are normal and expected. That said, if you're seeking a place where your voice will be heard, your hard work recognized, and gain experience to position yourself well for any upper tier sales position in 1/4 the time it would take you elsewhere, you can't do better than here. You'll work hard, but it pays off.

Cons

Long sales cycle. If you've ever tried to sell to Higher Ed, you already know what I'm going to say. Sometimes it feels like the industry moves at a snail's pace. That's just how it is. While it can be frustrating, it's got its silver linings. For example, my clients aren't cogs in the revenue machine here, which personally, I value. I've had the opportunity to develop fantastic relationships with clients because the deal cycle is so long and we communicate so often. It's a great way to meet great people and expand your network, which is worth its weight in gold. It's also a young company, so bear that in mind. Growing pains are common, but I enjoy working through those. If you want a big corporate space with big corporate amenities, don't apply. If you like a challenge and enjoy working on building something, this just might be the place for you.
