The client I was assigned to was professional and respectful.
The work itself was meaningful and aligned with my skills.
Unfortunately, none of the positives were due to DeFY Security’s involvement — only the client’s integrity.
Cons
Bait-and-switch recruiting: I was recruited under the explicit promise that the position would be hybrid, three days onsite per week. Once I arrived, I discovered the client had never agreed to that arrangement.
Dishonest communication: A DeFY representative later told the client they had “no idea” where I got the hybrid schedule, despite written documentation proving that’s exactly how the position was presented to me. This undermined my credibility and damaged trust.
Worker misclassification: DeFY’s subcontractor attempted to classify me as a 1099 independent contractor while dictating schedule and onsite requirements — a clear example of illegal misclassification.
Lack of accountability: When concerns were raised, there was no ownership or correction — only deflection.
