Pros

* Flexible work schedule * Wonderful focus on learning and growing in your role - dedicated time/allowance for professional development, conversations on upcoming and attended meetups * A very diverse pool of co-workers * Focus on continuous review and improvement of processes - on projects and internal processes * Independent work environment

Cons

As a software consultancy engineers are often contracted out to other companies, thus you are working in other environments and not necessarily home office. The company does make a point to provide support to all contracted engineers and keep everyone in touch with home office through weekly meetings and quarterly team days Since we're on contract with our clients you may not be involved in a project from start to end

Pros

- The team at Def Method is genuinely interested in developing their talent and provides supports each employee's career growth. And this is aside from the professional development budget and time that everyone is encourage to take full advantage of. - They take work-life balance seriously and care for the well-being of their employees from being flexible about remote work (and becoming remote first post covid) and providing paid parental leave in addition to the basic benefits. - You work with a really diverse and intellectual team of people - They take their core values seriously and all employees exhibit these values: seek to understand, humility, curiosity and succeeding together

Cons

Not really a con, but it's consulting work so you roll on and off projects and sometimes may not have much of a choice in type of project - but even then they make sure you are happy with the work and find ways to accommodate your career growth plans
