Pros
Some colleagues are genuinely supportive and hardworking. At an individual level many people try to collaborate and make things work despite the wider environment. Day to day teamwork among peers can be positive if you find the right group.
Cons
Unfortunately this is overshadowed by a deeply unhealthy culture driven from the very top. There is a consistent pattern of senior management refusing to take accountability and instead shifting blame downwards when things go wrong. Public chastising of staff in front of others is not uncommon which creates a culture of fear rather than learning or improvement. Many employees operate on edge constantly feeling like they are walking on eggshells. There is also a subtle but noticeable misogynistic undertone within the workplace. Inappropriate jokes and comments are sometimes made by staff and rather than being challenged they are not always challenged including by senior management. This normalises behaviour that many would consider unprofessional and exclusionary. Processes and policies are frequently ignored by senior leadership yet those same processes are strictly enforced and heavily punished when other staff make even minor mistakes. This inconsistency seriously undermines trust and morale. Confidentiality is another major concern. Both senior management and HR have demonstrated a lack of discretion which makes employees reluctant to raise concerns or speak openly. In one instance staff were informed that legal action had been taken against a former employee in relation to a negative Glassdoor review which reasonably discouraged others from speaking openly. While there are several 4 or 5 star reviews many of these appear to focus on surface level positives such as social events incentives and atmosphere and often come from commercial facing roles. They tend not to address deeper issues such as leadership behaviour work life balance career progression or whether people feel safe to speak openly which are areas where this company struggles significantly. Career development is limited and progression often feels unclear or inconsistent. Combined with the management style this leads to high stress low morale and burnout.
