Pros

Datadog has it all. To be frank and honest, I was a bit sceptic reluctant to look into a company like Datadog. But from the very first interview I got to learn that Datadog was a place to grow. In this industry we do not always get the benefit of being our own person, of being able to fail or to keep our own voice. From the first day of joining, the on-boarding process is flawless and carved out to follow your enablement learning curve. I am now 6 months in and so happy that I took the opportunity to join a team like Datadog.

Cons

As Datadog is a engineering enterprise, being a sales person here also means that you need to ramp yourself up and learn the foundation, However, it is not fair to put it under Cons as it also is the biggest part of my growth - how I need to push myself to learn every day. So what I want to highlight here, is that the first period can feel a bit overwhelming before it all comes together.

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
