Pros

- many learning opportunities (was my first PM role and I felt very prepared going into my next one) - high standards for writing; teaches you how to communicate concisely and effectively - office perks, despite it being very crowded at times

Cons

- sometimes can take a long time to get a decision approved given all the stakeholders involved // upper management didn't always communicate in the kindest way - underpaid for a good portion of my tenure (didn't feel like I was making a competitive salary until the very end) - once you release a feature, it's always on to the next one; there's not a lot of lot of time for reflection - very difficult / no clear path to getting a promo from L2 to senior in PM org

We’re glad to hear the role offered strong learning opportunities, especially early in your PM career, and that our writing standards helped you build skills you’ve carried forward. We also appreciate your candid feedback on decision-making timelines, leadership communication, and clarity around promotion paths. Pros

Stock options and gym reimbursement

Cons

Datadog is a very toxic place especially if you’re in a non-tech role where you are deprioritized and uncared for. Talent acquisition has terrible, selfish leaders who only care about themselves and pushing their teams past their limits. Your colleagues will backstab you again and again to gain preferential treatment. The leaders encourage this type of behavior and get excited and make jokes about it. Additionally,I It is an environment riddled with sexism and racism — is it not 2026? NYC at that? The lack of resources and support compared to engineering is astounding. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Many of the good reviews are fake or are by people who perpetuate the toxic culture. The only good thing is the stock options. Stay far away from this place!
