Pros

- Great Product; you can have confidence that when going up against the competition you have the most comprehensive complete enterprise AI platform to propose. Rarely will you find a situation where you lose because of technical reasons -There is a good sales strategy in place that will propel the company forward once it starts delivering. - New Leadership, Dan Wright, Parm Uppal, Tom Levy etc, it's their first time in an AI & Machine Learning company. They all came from App D, which is a completely different sell. Despite this they have learnt fast (still lots to learn to become effective leaders in this industry). I consider this to be a positive that they aren't just leaders with the title, but are prepared to get their hands dirty so they can understand the ins and outs of how DataRobot is perceived by prospective & existing customers. - DataRobot is clear on its Vision & Mission. Big positive, believe me. I've worked for a confused company before and its painful. - Hiring aggressively to ensure we have the supporting resources to keep up with the aggressive sales targets that have been placed on sales professionals. Shows that leadership aren't the type to say "just hire more sales people that will fix everything." Leadership are looking at everything that makes up the DataRobot proposition and hiring across all angles.

Cons

- Dan Wright has been CEO for about a month and already corporate wants employees to write a POSITIVE review about him just to boost the numbers. I consider this to be a negative. Dan will get my review once it is seen that he is a capable CEO....it's his first time holding such as position. He'll earn praise the same way as everyone else - Zero exciting company benefits. They offer pension and car allowance...that's it. They'll try to say "oh you get unlimited holiday" but that's a lie. You'll get the standard 20-30 days of leave...anything more and you'll see just how inaccurate that unlimited holiday "benefit" is. -A lot of what people define as exciting is subjective. A great product that has constant updates being made to it is amazing and exciting but that doesn't make DataRobot as a working environment healthy or something to look forward to. The fact that we are pursuing an IPO and there's lots of stuff happening in the company to enable this milestone is amazing and exciting but that again that doesn't contribute to DataRobot providing a healthy working environment or something to look forward to. This is DataRobot: - A company that when the pandemic struck fired 300-400 people and shamefully blamed it on COVID, when really it was jut to free up space for the new App D management to hire in their own people. - Following the firing frenzy they cut the salaries of all existing employees, and in parallel started hiring new ones offering them big fat pay salary cheques. - DataRobot never apologised for this .......This is DataRobot. - New management largely from App Dynamics have effectively introduced the "Play the Game" culture into DataRobot. You must act a certain way and kiss the hands and feet of the right people to people to progress now in DataRobot...they'll say that the politics of working in a private or public company is standard but I've personally worked in companies where that isn't the case so it is a choice made. - Customer Facing Data Scientist (the technical professionals) are meant to help you drive opportunities but in reality they are data scientists and in most cases anything but customer facing. DataRobot has a very weak, perhaps even non-existent approach to helping world-class data scientists who choose to join DataRobot become customer facing professionals. If you are salesperson looking to join DataRobot prepare yourself for having to do everything. - The pay is poor when compared to H2O, Dataiku, SAS and IBM and to get a salary increase is near enough impossible.
