Pros
Travel. Some good colleagues. Remote work is flexible
Cons
Diversity - The executive team is made up of mostly men, all white. Leaders reporting into them are also mostly white men. Diversity is not a priority at Datacamp. No one talks about this. HR - Poor HR setup. Unprofessional and unstructured. HR leaders come and go quietly, no transparency. HR policies are few and far between. They call themselves the “people” team but people is not a company priority. Leadership - The executive leaders only care about squeezing as much as possible with the least amount of people possible. No care for mental health, or employee development and growth. Vibe is detached, cold, robotic. There’s no clear long term vision only a myopic short term view. Everything is important all at once. Many in the company have no faith in the leadership team. Major nepotism. Leaders hire their buddies and make sure to place them in favorable positions. Favoritism runs amok in this company. Turnover - People are quietly let go regularly with no explanation or transparency. You don’t know if you’re the next person on the chopping block at any point no matter how you’re performing.
