Pros

It's a small to mid-sized company, you get to know people fairly quickly, and the long time employees here are welcoming and knowledgeable. The company founders have recently undertaken a massive effort to reclaim a positive culture, including President and founder Tom Streng coming back as CEO. He cares for his company and knows that taking care of his employees is how Data Age will move forward. As of writing this review, I've been with the company for nearly 3 years, which means my time here saw the impact of COVID19. Data Age's response was sensible and considerate of employee health, and saw the bulk of its workforce shift to full time remote work. Though some departments have returned to in office, many remain remote including my position, which honestly makes it a treat to go in for a weekly meeting and see everyone face to face. I know every person is different, but remote work has been the best thing for my own mental health, especially during the last few years. With that said, upper management has been very flexible on this front, with many choosing to come into the office daily, and many choosing to work remote.

Cons

Though I never personally experienced the bullying behavior or tirades other reviews have mentioned, from what I understand from speaking with colleagues both past and present, those reviews were well deserved. HOWEVER, recent changes in management have mitigated those issues, and I have yet to have a bad experience with my supervisors. As I mentioned, this is a small company, which also encourages wearing many hats. This has been both good and bad, as taking on responsibility is a great way to showcase your talents, discover new ones, and show your boss you're ready for more, it also opens the same doors for your supervisors to occupy roles that might have lead to upwards movement for employees like myself. The review process seems pretty lax here as well. While I have received raises when I took on new responsibilities, I did have to ask for them. To summarize, the biggest con is a lack of clear career path, at least in my department.
