Pros
The policy of flexible working hours, although seems convinient at first, rather quickly proves to be a trouble. I don't recommend considering it as a benefit from any stance while you decide on this job. For ametures, just starting with content writing, this can be decent starting point. You can learn a lot here, but also pay a steep price by sacrificing work-life balance. I feel there are better ways to learn content writing. There's a strong official hierarchy here which exposes writers to strong criticism from their seniors. Now, that can be a good or a bad thing depending on the individual's rapport with the colleagues . For me, it proved to be quite demoralizing. I had to deal with abuse and disrespect as I wasn't able to establish that sort of casual rapport. A very predictable mode of operation exists in terms of work load distribution and challenges. You are required to deliver a set number of articles for a fixed number of clients everyday.
Cons
1. Have to write 3000 words of content daily, without fail. In case you can't write that much, no consideration, not even for a single day. Contrary to the JD they hand out, salary is NOT fixed. the most unreasonable salary policy - for every word deficit, you loose the equivalent money. Your word count is monitored monthly, where you have to maintain the total target. Technically, it is a TARGET BASED job. 2. Toxic environment and work culture. The entire process of quality control and editing here is carried out over a very loose framework. It is haphazard and very draining on the associates. You can easily get penalized unfairly over unreasonable grounds. Unprofessionalism runs rampant on all levels. 3. You'll be forced to write more and more. No room to explore and grow because all your focus will be to generate quantity. 4. They won't furnish you a relieving letter or an experience certificate, not voluntarily. The CEO is so ignorant that he was confounded when I said his acceptance mail in response to my resignation isn't sufficient. I had to convince him that a relieving letter is necessary to get employed somewhere else. To sum it up, other content writing agencies in Kolkata offer better opportunities for growth and overall job satisfaction. Go for those if you can.
